1. Winmau Blade 5 Bristle Dartboard
Let’s start with the most popular dart board on the market: the Winmau Blade 5 Bristle dartboard. This is a high-quality bristle board that has been approved by the British Darts Organization. The spider wire is 14% thinner than the previous model, which not only expands the scoring area but also reduces the chance of deflection away from the board if you do hit it.
The board’s triple wheel lock and levelling system makes it simple to mount in a variety of locations and to move around if you decide you’d rather have it on another wall.
The razor wiring that separates the sections is also much thinner than on the Blade 4 and has shifted from a 90-degree angle to a 60+ degree angle, making the dart more likely to be guided into the board. They’ve also used Carbon Diffusion technology on the bullseye ring, which makes it 20% stronger than before.
If I had one criticism of this board, it would be that they should have pre-drilled holes for the mounting feet to make it a little easier to set up the first time. It’s not too difficult; it’s just that an otherwise excellent board, which is significantly better than its predecessor and genuinely better than the vast majority of dart boards, has spoiled me.

2. TG Champion Tournament Bristle Dartboard
Let’s face it, the Winmau Blade 5 and most other dart boards aren’t cheap. However, if you’ve never played darts before and want to give it your best shot, the TG Champion is a lot less expensive and good enough for a beginner.
It’s less than half the price and advertised as a “tournament” dart board, which I think is a stretch, but it’s still better than 95% of what you’ll find at your local Walmart or even on Amazon.
So, why has it been dubbed a tournament dart board? Because it could theoretically be used as such. It is exactly 18″ in diameter and has a 1.75″ wide frame, which meets the tournament size requirements. It also has an extra slim spider wire and a staple-free bullseye, as do most tourney options, to prevent bounce-outs. Nothing is more aggravating than slamming your dart into the wires and having it bounce away.
It’s made of self-healing sisal fibres, which makes it a bristle dartboard. This means that with moderate use, the board will last a couple of years; unlike cork or wood boards, which would be full of holes by then, these will close up as the fibres self-heal.
Another advantage is that you can use both steel and soft tip darts on this. People have also reported using it for knife throwing, but we don’t recommend it because the board’s healing capabilities aren’t great and you’ll quickly damage it.
When reading online reviews, you’ll notice that some people complain about the TG Champion’s bullseye being too difficult to hit, but this is not the case. It’s very likely that people are using low-cost plastic darts that aren’t designed for bristle boards and then blaming the board.

Viper Shot King Sisal/Bristle Steel Tip Dart Board – The Viper Shot King is a solid board that has a lot to offer. This is a staple-free bullseye board, for example, which means the spider isn’t stapled to the board at the bullseye, as is common with boards in this price range. Instead, it’s attached at the sides and free to move around to avoid causing concentrated damage.
The sector wires are fairly thin, and their sides are rounded rather than triangular. This wouldn’t be as much of a problem if the wire wasn’t so soft, causing sharper darts to bounce off rather than deflect into the board, as well as bending the spider more than is typical for a board of this type.
The bristles, on the other hand, are densely packed and provide a good game experience as well as quick closing when you pull the darts. It’s brightly coloured and visible from afar, allowing you to aim where you want to hit. This would be an excellent board if it weren’t for the ring issues. It’s a decent board for the money as is, but there are better boards out there with stronger spiders that don’t deform as easily.
It’s very similar to the TG Champion described above, so the choice is mostly a matter of personal preference.

4. Viper Hudson Dartboard Black Friday
Viper Hudson Sisal/Bristle Steel Tip Dartboard – If you’re going to buy a Viper dart board, the cabinet bundle is well worth the extra money. The Shot King bristle board serves as the anchor for this, and while it is of good quality, you will again encounter the issue of the spider being too thick, which encourages bounce outs.
The Hudson Sisal might be the way to go if you’re looking to train yourself to only aim for the centre of a scoring section and don’t mind a lot of frustration, but it will still be annoying.
The cabinet, which is absolutely beautiful, makes this still worth the price. Both open and closed, the dark wood pub style case looks great.
On the right flap, there is a cricket scoring table, which is a nice touch and useful. Furthermore, the dart storage spots in the main portion of it were fantastic – we were able to fit 32 different pairs of darts in there, so you won’t have to worry about compatibility.
The darts included in the set are of much higher quality than I’ve come to expect from starter sets. It’s not great, but it’ll do for the average player. If I were serious about darts, I wouldn’t keep them, but if I just want to play with my friends, they’re fine.
It’s almost preferable to buy the cabinet first, then upgrade the dart board.
5. Cricket Pro 900 Dart Board Black Friday
Cricket Pro 900 by Arachnid Electronic Dart Board – While we prefer traditional darts, electronic dart boards have their place, and Arachnid is one of the best manufacturers on the market, with the Cricket Pro 900 as their flagship model.
For a variety of reasons, we’ve named this the best electronic dart board, but one of the things I like best about it is how playable it is. It has extremely thin segment dividers, and thanks to the “NylonTough” materials used, bounce-outs are rare, and it appears to last a long time.
Finally, with an electronic device, the most important consideration is longevity, which this device meets.
I’ve been surprised by how accurate it is at keeping score in games. This is my main gripe with other similar devices, but the Cricket Pro 900 makes very few errors.
The board can be used by up to 8 people and keeps score for four teams. It comes with 48 different games out of the box (most come with 40), which will keep you or your guests occupied for a long time. Not only that, but some games are easily repurposed for new variations.

The WIN.MAX has a terrible name, but it’s actually a pretty good board, especially given its low price.
It comes preloaded with 21 games and over 65 variations, ranging from classics like 301 and Cricket to more entertaining titles like Killer, Scram, and Shove a Penny. They also have a manual that contains all of the rules as well as tutorials.
Because the LCD display is small, you’ll have to walk up to the board more frequently to keep track of your scores, but you’ll be doing so anyway when collecting the darts.
